Anxiety

Anxiety can show itself in many ways. From feeling worried about your health, money, work, school and relationships to feeling overwhelmed and having panic attacks, agoraphobia and feeling frightened in social situations.

Anxiety is normal and exists due to a set of bodily functions that have helped us survive from our cave man days. When we feel anxious our flight and fight response is activated, triggering a racing heart, sweaty palms, butterflies and churning in the stomach, and hyperventilation (over breathing).

Sleep disorders

Migraine

Through personal experience, I have found hypnotherapy to work extremely well in helping with the symptoms of migraine. I have suffered from migraines since I was 11 years old. I get aura, loss of vision in one eye, numbness down one side of my body, my tongue goes numb, I find it difficult to speak and formulate words, I vomit and the pain is like an ice pick stabbing through my eye and over one side of my head. I just can not function. They last about 24 - 48 hours. Thankfully they are infrequent but sometimes the fear of getting one can be just as debilitating. However, I have been able to use hypnotherapy to help with the symptoms of migraines for myself and can show you how as well. 

Grief and bereavement

Grief is a natural reaction to loss. There is no length of time for grief. If you're suffering after losing a family member or friend, pet or the ending of a relationship then Solution Focused therapy can help. Bereavement can make you feel lost in life, causing anxiety, guilt and anger.

Menopause

There are many symptoms associated with menopause such as feeling increasingly anxious and stressed, sleep disorders, weight gain and low self esteem and confidence concerns. Medication can help yet sometimes women don't want to or are unable to take HRT but hypnotherapy can help.

 

Hot flushes can be one of the main symptoms women have when going through the menopause. Hypnotherapy can help you to cope with hot flushes but I can also teach you a 'self hypnosis' technique, where you are in control the whole time, which can lessen the intensity and duration which in turn reduces the fear surrounding having one.

I like everything to be evidenced based and there is research which concluded that clinical hypnosis resulted in significant reductions in self-reported and physiologically measured hot flushes as well as hot flush scores in post-menopausal women.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

If you have been diagnosed with IBS by a doctor and you are struggling to control your symptoms then Hypnotherapy is highly effective.
